Front-End Discriminating Sensor: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Remove air duct from throttle body. Remove upper fan shroud. Remove fan and clutch assembly. Remove lower fan shroud.
  3. Front-end discriminating sensor is located on front-end lower tie bar. Remove CPA clip and disconnect sensor harness connector. Remove sensor mounting fasteners. Remove sensor. See Figure.
