System Operation Check

  1. Ensure power door locks system is operational. See appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS article. Perform transmitter test. See TRANSMITTER TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. Drivers door unlocks and courtesy lamps illuminate. If system does not operate as specified, see TEST B: DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK INOPERATIVE - DRIVER DOOR (BASE)  or TEST A: COURTESY LAMPS INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER (BASE)  under SYMPTOM TESTS. Go to next step.
  3. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice. All doors unlock and courtesy lamps illuminate. If system does not operate as specified, see TEST B: DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK INOPERATIVE - DRIVER DOOR (BASE)  or TEST A: COURTESY LAMPS INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER (BASE)  under SYMPTOM TESTS. Go to next step.
  4. Press REAR 2X button on transmitter twice. Cargo doors or liftgate unlocks and courtesy lamps illuminate. If system does not operate as specified, see TEST E: DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER - REAR (BASE)  , TEST F: DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER - REAR (LUXURY)  , TEST H: REAR RELEASE INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER (BASE)  or TEST I: REAR RELEASE INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER (LUXURY)  . Go to next step.
  5. Press LOCK button on transmitter. All doors lock. If system does not operate as specified, see TEST C: DOOR LOCK INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER - ALL DOORS (BASE)  under SYMPTOM TESTS. Go to next step.
  6. With luxury system, press alarm/panic button. Turn ignition on. Vehicle horn sounds and exterior lamps flash. Horn and lamps stop when ignition is turned on. If system does not operate as specified, see TEST G: PANIC MODE INOPERATIVE (LUXURY)  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
