Park/Neutral Switch (A/T Models)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect electrical connector from PCM. Turn ignition key cylinder slightly, then shift transmission into Drive (ensure ignition is off). Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 30 (Brown wire) of PCM connector. See Figure .
  2. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace PCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect park/neutral switch connector. Check for continuity between ground and same terminal (Brown wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace park/neutral switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown wire.
