Vehicle Speed Sensor & Calibrator
- Disconnect VSS calibrator connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage at Pink/Black wire terminal of VSS calibrator connector. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink/Black wire between VSS calibrator and fuse.
- If battery voltage is present, check voltage between Pink/Black and Black/White wire terminals of VSS calibrator connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair Black/White wire between VSS calibrator and ground. If battery voltage is present, raise and support vehicle.
- Check AC voltage between Purple/White and Light Green/Black wire terminals of VSS calibrator connector with drive wheels turning in high gear. If pulsing AC voltage is present, go to next step. If pulsing AC voltage is not present, check Purple/White and Light Green/Black wires between VSS calibrator and VSS. If wires are okay, replace VSS.
- Check AC voltage between Yellow and Black wire terminals of VSS calibrator connector with drive wheels turning in high gear. If AC voltage is not present, or if AC voltage is present but does not vary with engine RPM, replace VSS calibrator.
