Fuel Cylinders: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: U.S. Department Of Transportation (DOT) requires fuel cylinders be retested every 3 years from date of manufacture. Fuel cylinders expire and must be removed from service 15 years from date of manufacture. A label affixed to fuel filler door states first cylinder retest date and cylinder expiration date.
WARNING: Fuel cylinders MUST be empty before removal. Service cylinders outdoor to prevent gas build-up.
NOTE: For model specific removal and installation procedures, see appropriate SPECIFIC REMOVAL & INSTALLATION PROCEDURES under FUEL CYLINDERS  .
