Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cables. Remove starter. Disconnect fuel lines at fuel transfer pump and fuel heater. Remove bolts, fuel transfer pump along with fuel heater and gasket.
    CAUTION: Bolts must be tighten evenly when installing fuel transfer pump to prevent damage to fuel transfer pump.
  2. To install, ensure gasket sealing surfaces are clean. Using NEW gasket, install fuel transfer pump and fuel heater on cylinder block. Install bolts in fuel transfer pump. Tighten bolts evenly to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Tighten fuel lines to specification. Install starter and negative battery cables. Bleed low-pressure fuel lines. See FUEL LINE BLEEDING  under FUEL SYSTEM.
