Removal ("P" Series)

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove intake manifold assembly. Install Protective Covers (J-29664-1) in intake ports. Remove fuel injection lines. Disconnect wiring, fuel return line, fuel supply line, and fuel injection lines at pump. Cap all openings.
- Remove A/C hose retainer bracket (if equipped). Remove oil filler tube and vent hose assembly. Remove grommet. Scribe or paint alignment mark on front cover and injection pump flange.
- Rotate engine to remove injection pump-to-drive gear retaining bolts accessible through oil filler neck hole. Remove injection pump mount nuts. Remove injection pump and gasket. See Figure.
