Steering Gear: Installation

To install, reverse removal procedures. On "P" Series vans, maintain the coupling-to-steering shaft flange dimension of .25-.37" (6.4-9.5 mm). Tighten bolts and nuts to specifications. Refer to the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Fill pump reservoir. Bleed air from system. See POWER STEERING GENERAL SERVICING article in the STEERING section.
