Housing Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove pitman shaft seal snap ring. Remove seals and washers. See Figure . Press pitman shaft bearing out of housing from lower end.
  2. If hose connector seat is being replaced, tap seat with a 5/16" x 18 thread tap. Thread connector seats ONLY 2-3 threads. Install bolt with flat washer and nut into seat. Hold bolt while tightening nut to extract seat.
