"C" & "K" Models: Installation
- Assemble upper and lower dash covers to seal. Attach bracket to steering column. Tighten four retaining bolts.NOTE: If rag joint coupling was removed from steering gear shaft, it must be installed before steering column is installed in car.
- Position steering column in vehicle. Assemble flange to rag joint. Install lock washers and nuts. Tighten nuts. Loosely install two bracket nuts to dash studs.
- Install lower clamp (engine side of firewall) and tighten nuts. Install seal, upper and lower covers to cab side of firewall. Tighten two upper bracket nuts.
- Remove plastic spacers from flexible coupling. Install automatic transmission indicator cable (if equipped).
- Install instrument panel trim cover. Connect transmission control linkage. Install steering wheel. Connect battery ground cable.
