Body Control Module C (BCMC): Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. NOTE: If the BCMC (body control module C) did not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, As-Built Data may need to be entered as part of the repair. This step is only necessary if the BCMC (body control module C) is being replaced.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the BCMC following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  3. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors. Release the harness retainers from the lower PCM cover to position aside the harnesses.

  4. Release the tabs and remove the BCMC access covers.

  5. Remove the BCMC wire end connector nuts and remove the wire end connectors.

    Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)

  6. Remove the BCMC bolts.

  7. NOTE: BCMC (body control module C) is shown in illustration removed and from underneth to show tab locations.

    Release the 4 tabs and position up the BCMC.

  8. NOTE: 4 BCMC (body control module C) connectors are shown in illustration, some vehicles may be equipped with 5.

    Disconnect the connectors an release the wiring harness retainers and remove the BCMC.
