Pinpoint Test AP: P184E:92

  1. NOTE: The Inverter System Controller (ISC) is referred to as the SOBDMC (Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C) in the scan tool.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    SOBDMC P184E:92 Internal Control Module Lateral Stability Performance - AWD Disabled: Performance Or Incorrect Operation This DTC sets when the rear (secondary) electric drive system is applying torque in the wrong direction.

    Possible Causes 

    • Inverter System Controller (ISC) calibration
    • Secondary Inverter System Controller (ISC) calibration
    • Secondary Inverter System Controller (ISC)

  2. AP1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all DTC s from all modules.

    Are any loss of communication with the Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) (SOBDMB) DTC s present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE all Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC)DTC s.
    No  GO to  AP2
  3. AP2 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CALIBRATION LEVEL

    • Verify the Inverter System Controller (ISC) is at the latest calibration level.

    Is the Inverter System Controller (ISC) at the latest calibration level? 

    Yes  GO to  AP3
    No  UPDATE the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to the latest calibration level.
  4. AP3 CHECK THE SECONDARY INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (S-ISC) CALIBRATION LEVEL

    • Verify the Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) SOBDMB is at the latest calibration level.

    Is the Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) at the latest calibration level? 

    Yes  GO to  AP4
    No  UPDATE the Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) to the latest calibration level.
  5. AP4 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all CMDTC s from the Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) SOBDMB.

    Are any Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) SOBDMBDTC s present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE all Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC) DTC s. REFER to the Master DTC Chart.
    No  For DTC P184E:92 only GO to  AP5
  6. AP5 VERIFY THE CONCERN

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) SOBDMCDTC s.

    • Attempt to reproduce the concern, test drive the vehicle with aggressive acceleration and aggressive deceleration.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) SOBDMC self-test.

    Is DTC P184E:92 present? 

    Yes  INSTALL a new Secondary Inverter System Controller (S-ISC).
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
