Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

Interior Trim Remover

Adjustment 

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
  2. Release the retainers and remove the lower RH center stack trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  3. Position aside the lower steering column trim panel, release the retainers and remove the lower LH center stack trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  4. Remove the bolts and the lower center stack trim panel.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    1. Position the selector lever in D.
    2. Release the retainers remove the floor console upper trim panel.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  6. Unlock the selector lever cable adjuster.

  7. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever.

  8. Position the manual lever in D.

    1. Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.
    2. Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.

  9. Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.

  10. NOTE: Ensure that the selector lever cable adjustment mechanism is locked.

    Lock the selector lever cable adjuster.

    1. Connect the electrical connectors.
    2. Install the floor console upper trim panel.
    3. Position the selector lever in P.

    1. Connect the electrical connectors.
    2. Install the lower center stack trim panel and the bolts.

      Torque

      : 17 lb.in (1.9 Nm)

  13. Install the lower LH center stack trim panel and position back the lower steering column trim panel.

  14. Install the lower RH center stack trim panel.

  15. Verify the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
