Intermediate Shaft: Installation

  1. NOTE: Make sure that the mating surface is free of corrosion and foreign material.

    Clean and inspect the O-ring mating surface.

  2. NOTE: Make sure the new component is installed.

    Install a new intermediate shaft O-ring.

  3. NOTE: Make sure that the mating surface and the bore is free of corrosion and foreign material, avoid particles getting into the bore.

    Clean and inspect the engine oil pan at intermediate shaft mating surface.

  4. NOTE: Make sure that the mating surface is free of corrosion and foreign material.

    Clean the intermediate shaft.

  5. Install the intermediate shaft assembly and the bolts.

    Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

  6. Install the engine mount LH. Refer to: Engine Mount LH 3.0L EcoBoost . Refer to: Engine Mount LH 3.3L Duratec-V6 . Refer to: Engine Mount LH 3.3L Duratec-V6 - Hybrid (BP) . Refer to: Engine Mount LH 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS) .
  7. Install the front halfshaft. Refer to: Halfshaft  .
