Component Description: GSM
The GSM rotary dial has hall effect sensors that are used as inputs to indicate that the dial has been rotated. When P is selected above 5 mph N is provided along with a message in the IPC. The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) CAN signal is used for normal function to shift from P. The GSM rotary dial rotates freely clockwise or counterclockwise once it receives the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) unlock signal. The return to P feature is shown by the indicators on the dial and there will be no shifter movement during an automatic return to P event.
