Ride Height Adjustment

Vehicle/Axle Stands
 

Adjustment 

NOTE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
NOTE: Front ride height adjustment is shown. Rear ride height adjustment similar.
  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  2. Support the suspension. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

  3. Loosen the suspension push rod adjustment jamb nut.

    1. Remove and discard the suspension push rod-to-rocker nut and bolt.
    2. Position aside the suspension push rod.

  4. NOTE: Base ride height can be adjusted by lengthening or shortening the suspension push rod.

    Turn the end of the suspension push rod to raise or lower ride height.

    1. Position the suspension push rod.
    2. Install the new suspension push rod-to-rocker nut and bolt.

      Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

  5. Tighten the suspension push rod adjustment jamb nut.

    Torque: 98 lb.ft (133 Nm)

  6. Install the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  7. Check ride height readjust as necessary. Refer to: Ride Height Measurement  .
