Oil Pump: Removal
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist using the front and mid lift points. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the bolts and the engine underbody cover.
- Lower the vehicle and position the hoist using the front and rear lift points. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the RH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .

- Remove the oil pan drain plugs and drain the engine oil. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
- Install the oil pan drain bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

NOTE: Use a Lisle® 61570 - 76 mm - 14 flutes end cap wrench.NOTE: Place a rag over the cross bar when removing the oil filter to catch drips from the oil filter.
Using a oil filter end cap wrench, remove and discard the engine oil filter.

- Remove the auxiliary oil cooler drain plug and drain the auxiliary oil cooler lines and engine oil pump assembly. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
- Install the oil pan drain plug.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

- Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers
- Loosen the clamps and remove the coolant hoses.
- Remove the nuts, bolts and the RH support bar.

- Remove the M8 bolt and the oil pump tensioner.
- Remove the oil pump belt from the oil pump pulley.
- Remove the bellhousing-to-oil pump bolt.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pump tube.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

- Remove the auxiliary oil cooler supply and return tube support bracket bolt.

NOTE: Use a AN Wrench (such as an Summit Racing® AN hose end wrench, or equivalent).NOTE: Only use the appropriately sized AN Wrench to hold the male fitting while loosening the female fitting.
Loosen the auxiliary oil cooler supply and return tube fittings.
- Remove the bolt and the auxiliary oil cooler return tube.
- Remove the bolt and the auxiliary oil cooler supply tube.

- Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
- Inspect the 37 degree flare of the auxiliary oil cooler supply and return tubes for damage and replace if necessary.
- If not replaced, clean the lower auxiliary oil cooler supply and return tubes with brake clean.
Material: Motorcraft® Metal Brake Parts Cleaner / PM-4-A, PM-4-B
- Remove the bolts and the lower auxiliary oil cooler bracket.
- Remove the bolts and the turbocharger oil return tube.
- Remove and discard the gasket and O-ring seal.
- Remove the bolts and position the oil pump supply and return tube aside.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pump support bracket.

NOTE: There is an oil pump-to-bellhousing shim, make sure the shim is removed.NOTE: If the oil pump is being replaced, the shim gap must be measured in installation.NOTE: If the oil pump is not replaced, the original shim can be reused.
Remove the bolts and the oil pump assembly and the shim.
- Remove and discard the gasket and O-ring seal.
