Oil Cooler: Removal
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist using the front and mid lift points. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the bolts and the engine underbody cover.
- Lower the vehicle and position the hoist using the front and rear lift points. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the RH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .

NOTE: Use a Lisle® 61570 - 76 mm - 14 flutes end cap wrench.
Using a oil filter end cap wrench, remove and discard the engine oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment

- Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers
- Loosen the clamps and remove the coolant hoses.

NOTE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, may cause engine failure.
Remove the 6 bolts (5 shown) and the engine oil cooler.

NOTE: If metal or foreign material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose the mechanical concerns refer to Engine .
Inspect the engine oil cooler.
- Remove and discard the oil cooler O-ring seals.
