Check
- Connect the diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle. Monitor the TFTPID.
- With the engine running in PARK on a level surface make sure the transmission is at normal operating temperature 85-93 deg. C (185-200 deg. F). If necessary, drive the vehicle until the transmission is at normal operating temperature 85-93 deg.C (185-200 deg.F).
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner
- Remove the transmission vent.
- Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner
- Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
- With the engine running in PARK, remove the oil leveling plug.
- Add clean transmission fluid in increments of 0.25L (0.5 pt) until the transmission fluid is running down the transmission case. Use the General Equipment: Funnel

- Install the oil leveling plug.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- Add 1L (2 pt) of clean transmission fluid.

- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner
- Install the transmission vent.
- Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner
- Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
