Body Mount Fastener

Activation 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may include installation details.
NOTE: Air tools may be used to remove body mount bolts provided the fastener nut is properly secured with a socket and ratchet or wrench before bolt removal.
  1. NOTE: A captured nut is used to attach body and front structure to frame. The following procedure details removing body mount bolts in the event the nut spins within the enclosed structure.

  2. NOTE: Front End Sheet Metal (FESM) body mount bolt.

    Place a box wrench or equivalent on the captured nut. Remove and discard the body mount bolt.

    Torque

    : 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  3. NOTE: SuperCrew Cab, SuperCab body mount fastener location, regular cab similar. 
    NOTE: The floor panel has a raised circle above the body mount fastener to indicate the Number 1 and 2 fastener location. Number 3 position body mount fastener is locate below the rear seat mount attachment.

  4. NOTE: For removal of number 1 and 2 body mount bolts. 

    Remove the seat(s) as required and position aside the carpet and wire harness. Refer to: Front Seat .

  5. Remove the B-pillar trim as required and position aside the carpet and wire harness. Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - Regular Cab . Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - SuperCab . Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - SuperCrew .
  6. Remove the lower trim kick panel on the affected side.

  7. NOTE: Number 1 body mount position shown. 

    Using a 50mm bi-metal hole saw dedicated to aluminum, drill a hole in the floor pan at the body mount fastener location.

  8. Use a socket and ratchet to secure the nut.

  9. Remove and discard the body mount bolt.

    Torque

    : 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  10. Install body plug, part number W651032 in hole drilled in the floor pan during removal.
  11. Install the lower trim panel on the affected side.

  12. Install the B-pillar trim as required. Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - Regular Cab . Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - SuperCab . Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel - SuperCrew .
    NOTE: SuperCab and SuperCrew cab number 3 body mount. 
  13. Remove the rear seat. Refer to: Rear Seat LH - SuperCab . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - SuperCab . Refer to: Rear Seat LH - SuperCrew . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - SuperCrew .
  14. Remove the loadspace trim panel and position aside the carpet and wiring harness. Refer to: Loadspace Trim Panel - SuperCab/SuperCrew .
  15. NOTE: RH side.

    Remove the bolts and the jack mounting plate.

  16. NOTE: Floor pan sectioning is prohibited within 50mm of door hinge, restraint and seat anchoring points.
    NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

    Cut the floor panel outer layer only  . Carefully mark and cut the floor panel as indicated, remove SPR fasteners and remove section to access the fastener.   17. Use an offset box wrench or equivalent to retain the nut.

  18. Remove and discard the body mount bolt.

    Torque

    : 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  19. Sand using 80 grit sand paper to remove old adhesive and clean the reinforcement flange.

  20. Apply adhesive to the flange.

  21. Install previously removed section of the floor panel and drill for blind rivets. Use the General Equipment: 6.5 mm Drill Bit

  22. Install blind rivets.

  23. Apply anti-corrosion material to all exposed metal and seam seal the repair area to production level.

  24. NOTE: RH side.

    Install the jack mounting bracket and mounting bolts.

    Torque

    : 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  25. Reposition the carpet and wire harness and install the loadspace trim panel. Refer to: Loadspace Trim Panel - SuperCab/SuperCrew .
  26. Install the seat(s). Refer to: Rear Seat LH - SuperCab . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - SuperCab . Refer to: Rear Seat LH - SuperCrew . Refer to: Rear Seat RH - SuperCrew .
