Steering Column Upper Shaft: Installation

Install the steering column upper shaft.

WARNING: Do not reuse steering column shaft bolts. This may result in fastener failure and steering column shaft detachment or loss of steering control. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).

Connect the steering column upper shaft to the steering column.
1. Connect the steering column upper shaft to the steering column.
2. Install the new retainer.
  Torque
  
  : 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)

Connect the lower steering column shaft to the upper steering column shaft and install the retainer.

Torque

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
