Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the IPMA sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN 2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within the specified time frame, the module sets a DTC. This can be due to an IPMA failure, a circuit failure on the network or an excessive load on the network. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the IPMA, refer to the Network Message Chart in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control, Description and Operation article.
On vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control, the CCM communicates with
the ABS module through the IPMA, the CCM and the IPMA communicate over a private CAN.
PPT BQ ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| U0265:00 | Lost Communication with Image Processing Sensor A: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets in the ABS module when the adaptive cruise control data message from the IPMA is missing for at least 5 seconds. |
| U053B:41 | Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: General Checksum Failure | This DTC sets in the ABS module when an invalid checksum value is received in the collision mitigation by braking data message from the IPMA. |
| U053B:82 | Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated | This DTC sets in the ABS module when an invalid alive counter is received in the adaptive cruise control message from the IPMA. |
