Valve Springs: Installation

  1. NOTE: Check the seating of the valve collet.

    Install the valve spring and the valve spring retainer.

    • Compress the valve spring and install the valve collet using some grease and a small screwdriver.

    • Disconnect the compressed air supply.

    • Repeat the appropriate removal and installation steps for all of the other cylinders requiring service.

  2. Install the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to Engine Ignition - 2.0L GTDI .
  3. Install the valve tappets. For additional information, refer to Valve Tappets .
