DTC Index: Notes

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in General Information article

NOTE: Unlisted DTCs are often retrieved as a result of incorrect repair procedures. Before attempting any repairs for unlisted DTCs, check the vehicle service history for recent repairs. For RCM DTCs not listed in this chart;

Repair all other RCM DTCs before attempting to repair any DTCs not listed in this chart.
If no other RCM DTCs are retrieved, CLEAR the RCM DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. If the RCM DTCs return, VERIFY that the RCM is the correct part number for the vehicle application, and INSTALL As-Built data following scan tool instructions under Module Programming > As-Built.
CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs and SSMs. If a TSB or SSM exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB or SSM instructions.
Inspect the RCM and RCM connectors for any damaged pins or connections.
