Hood Alignment

Inspection 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Inspect the hood-to-body dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

    All alignments 

  2. Remove the hood latch. Refer to: Hood Latch .
  3. Remove the nuts and the striker assembly.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

    Hood fore and aft, left and right alignments 

  4. Loosen the nuts to permit movement of the hood. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  5. Carefully close the hood.

  6. Adjust the hood to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  7. Carefully open the hood.

  8. Tighten the nuts.

    Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

    Hood front up and down alignments 

  9. Adjust the bump stop rubbers.

  10. Adjust the hood to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

    All alignments 

  11. Install the striker assembly.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  12. Loosen the nuts to permit movement of the striker assembly. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  13. Tighten the nuts.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  14. Inspect the body-to-hood dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  15. Install the removed components.
