Inspection 

1. Check liftgate-to-body dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

Adjustment 

All alignments 

1. Position aside the load compartment luggage cover.

2. 1. Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

   2. Remove the retainers.
   3. Remove the liftgate opening trim panel.

3. Remove the liftgate striker.

   Torque

   : 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

   Liftgate left and right, up and down alignment 

4. Loosen the bolts. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

5. Carefully close the liftgate.

6. Adjust the liftgate to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

7. Carefully open the liftgate.

8. Tighten the bolts.

   Torque

   : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

   Liftgate in and out alignment 

9. Lower the headliner. Refer to: Headliner - Lowering .
10. Loosen the nuts. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

11. NOTE: Nominal overslam bumpers have a small lip and should be adjusted flush with the sheet metal surface.

    Adjust the nominal overslam bumpers.

12. Carefully close the liftgate.

13. Adjust the liftgate to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

15. Tighten the nuts.

    : 46 lb.ft (62.5 Nm)

17. Install the removed components.
18. If equipped, carry out the power liftgate initialization. Refer to: Power Liftgate Initialization .
