Climate Control Housing: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- 1.
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- 2.NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Remove the nut and disconnect the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- 3.NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Pinch off and disconnect the heater core inlet and outlet hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- 4.
Remove the instrument panel upper section. Refer to: Instrument Panel Upper Section .
- 8.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the climate control housing water drain tube.
- 10.
- Remove the hood latch release handle.
- Position aside the weather strip.
- Release the clips and remove the LH scuff plate.
- Release the clips and remove the LH lower cowl trim panel
- 11.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Remove the ground strap bolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Release the push pin retainer.
- 12.
- Position aside the weather strip.
- Release the clips and remove the RH scuff plate.
- Release the clips and remove the RH lower cowl trim panel.
- 13.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Remove the ground strap bolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Release the push pin retainer.
- 14.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers and position aside the wiring harness.
- 16.
Remove both front doors. Refer to: Front Door .
- 21.
Remove the retainers and the air plenum bezel.- 1.
If equipped. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
