Driver Seat Track: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .

    Vehicles without power seats 

    1. Remove the recliner handle knob cap. Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
    2. Using the flat headed screw driver, remove the retainer clips. Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
    3. Rotate and remove the recliner handle knob.

    1. Using side cutters, cut the head of the retainer.
    2. Insert a center punch onto the retainer and push the retainer inward. Use the General Equipment: Punch

  3. Release the tab and remove the height adjustment handle. Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver

  4. NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
    NOTE: Only use moderate force.

    1. Remove the screw.

      Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

    2. Remove the screw.

      Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

    3. Rotate the back of the side shield and remove the side shield.
    4. Slide the side shield forward and remove the side shield.

    Vehicles with power seats 

  5. NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
    NOTE: Only use moderate force.

    1. Remove the screw.

      Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

    2. Remove the screw.

      Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

    3. Pull the side shield to release it from the backrest.
    4. Slide the side shield forward.
    5. Disconnect the power seat electrical connector and remove the side shield.

    All vehicles 

  6. Remove the screw and detach the electrical harness. Remove the recliner cover.

    Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

  7. Release the tabs and remove the front seat track cover.

  8. Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover downward.

  9. Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wire harness retainer. Remove the screw and the seat position switch.

    Torque: 9 lb.in (1 Nm)

  10. Remove the retaining clip.

  11. If equipped. Disconnect the electrical connectors and release the wire harness retainers. Position aside the wire harness.

  12. Disconnect the electrical connector and release the wire harness retainers. Position aside the wire harness.

  13. Disconnect the electrical connector and release the wire harness retainers. Position aside the wire harness.

  14. If equipped. Release the wire harness retainers and position aside the wire harness.

  15. If equipped. Release the clips and remove the heated seat module.

  16. Remove the bolt and the front safety belt buckle.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  17. Release the wire harness retainers and disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the wire harness assembly.

  18. Release the J-clips and remove the seat cushion cover and foam.

  19. NOTE: Make sure that the wiring harness does not catch.

    Remove the bolts and the front seat backrest.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  20. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the front seat cushion support.

    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

  21. Release the clip and remove the wire harness connection bracket.
