Rear Door Alignment

Inspection

NOTE:
LH side shown in illustration, RH side similar.
- 1.
Inspect the rear door-to-body dimensions. REFER to: Body and Frame - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks.
Adjustment
All alignments
Rear door in and out, up and down alignment
- 4.
Adjust the door to specification. REFER to: Body and Frame - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks.
Rear door fore, aft and tilt alignment
- 6.
Remove the B-pillar trim panel. REFER to: B-Pillar Trim Panel .
- 7.
Depower the SRS. REFER to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
- 8.NOTE: This step applies to the LH door only.
Position aside the LH safety belt retractor.
- 1.
Remove the screw.Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- 2.
Detach the electrical wiring retainer and position aside the LH safety belt retractor.
- 1.
- 9.NOTE: This step applies to the RH door only.
Remove the screws and position aside the RH safety belt retractor.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Adjust the door to specification. REFER to: Body and Frame - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks.
- 22.NOTE: This step applies to the LH door only.
Position the LH safety belt retractor.
- 1.
Position the LH safety belt retractor and install the screw.Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- 2.
Install the electrical wiring retainer.
- 1.
- 23.NOTE: This step applies to the RH door only.
Position the RH safety belt retractor and install the screws.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- 24.
Install the B-pillar trim panel. REFER to: B-Pillar Trim Panel .
- 25.
Repower the SRS. REFER to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
- 26.
Check the active restraint system for correct operation. REFER to: SAFETY BELT SYSTEMS .

- 30.
Inspect the body-to-rear door dimensions. REFER to: Body and Frame - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks.
