Removal And Installation

Prior to replacing the selector lever mechanism for a no start or high shift effort concern, verify the selector lever cable to bracket clip is fully seated at the transmission and selector lever assembly. Unseated cables can cause selector lever cable binding and prevent the manual shaft from completely returning to the P (Park) position.

NOTE: To access the top selector lever mechanism bolts, position the selector lever in NEUTRAL before removing the selector lever.

Remove the selector lever. Refer to Selector Lever - Column Shift .

- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

7.

Adjust the selector lever cable when a new selector lever mechanism is installed. Refer to Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 6F35 or Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 6F50/6F55 .
