Fuel System: Notes

The fuel system consists of the following:

• Fuel rail
• Fuel injectors
• Fuel tank assembly
• Fuel Pump(FP) module (located in the fuel tank)
• Fuel supply tube
• Easy Fuel™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe assembly (which cannot be modified)
• Lifetime fuel filter (serviced as part of the FP module)
• Supplemental refueling adapter located in the spare tire compartment
• 2-speed Mechanical Returnless Fuel System(MRFS)

The vehicle is equipped with a Multi-Port Fuel Injection(MFI) system.

Fuel delivery is accomplished through a MRFS.

• The FP supplies the fuel injectors with pressurized fuel through the fuel rail.
• The fuel injectors are separately controlled and mounted to the intake manifold for each cylinder.
• The fuel tubes route the fuel from the fuel pump to the fuel rail.
• The fuel filter cleans the fuel delivered from the FP to the fuel rail.
