Transfer Case

• 1.
  
  Remove the front subframe. Refer to: Front Subframe .

• 2.
  
  If equipped with PTU cooling system, drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining And Vacuum Filling .

• 3.
  
  Remove the RH halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS), All-Wheel Drive (AWD) .

• 4.
  
  Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  Disconnect the catalyst monitor electrical connector.

  Remove the rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .

• 7.
  
  Remove the RH catalytic converter to transmission bracket bolts.

  Remove the RH catalytic converter bracket through bolt and bracket.

• 9.
  
  Remove and discard the RH catalytic converter nuts. Remove the RH catalytic converter.

  Remove and discard the converter gasket.

  Disconnect the PTU temperature sensor.

  Remove the PTU heat shield bolts and the PTU heat shield.

  Disconnect and position aside the PTU vent hose.

  Remove the PTU support bracket bolts and the PTU support bracket.

  If equipped with PTU cooling system. Release the hose clamps and position aside the PTU cooling system hoses.

  NOTE: This is a tight fit, use care to not damage the transmission and PTU mating surfaces.

  Remove the PTU bolts and the PTU.

  Remove and discard the PTU to transmission compression seal.
