WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Ford Transit-350 HD, 2016 Ford Transit-350, 2016 Ford Transit-250, and 2016 Ford Transit-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Tow/Haul switch (if equipped) is a momentary contact switch located on the selector lever bezel. To activate, press the Tow/Haul button. The words TOW HAUL will illuminate on the IPC. To deactivate, press the Tow/Haul button. The words TOW HAUL will no longer be illuminated on the IPC. When the engine is turned off and restarted, the transmission automatically returns to normal D mode (Tow/Haul OFF).
The Tow/Haul feature:
- delays upshifts to reduce the frequency of transmission shifting.
- provides engine braking when the selector lever is in the D position.
- downshifts to provide engine braking and control vehicle speed when descending a hill.
