Removal And Installation

1.

Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables .

2.

Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors.

Remove the 2 retainers and the PCM.
- Remove the retainers and remove the PCM from the mounting frame, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

NOTE: If the Instrument Cluster (IC) or the PCM is being replaced (or both), the parameters must be reset in both modules or the vehicle experiences a Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) no-start. This occurs even if the vehicle is not equipped with PATS. Refer to PATS Parameter Reset in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), With Intelligent Access (IA) .

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

5.

Using the scan tool, perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure, following the on-screen instructions.
