External Controls - Overview

Vehicles are equipped with either a column shift selector lever or a floor shift selector lever.
The transmission selector lever linkage consists of:
- a selector lever cable that connects the transmission manual control lever to the selector lever assembly.
- a brake shift interlock actuator that is integral to the selector lever assembly.
- a SelectShift™ switch mounted to the selector lever that allows the driver to manually shift the transmission.
- a TCS mounted to the selector lever that toggles the TOW/HAUL feature and, for column shift vehicles, the SPORT mode feature.
The selector lever assembly:
- locks the transmission selector lever in the P position when the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.
- requires the transmission selector lever to be in the P position to turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
The steering wheel:
- has SelectShift™ paddle switches mounted to it that allow the driver to manually shift the transmission (if equipped).
