Selector Lever Cable - Column Shift: Installation
- Place the manual control lever in DRIVE.
- Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents into the manual 1st position.
- Rotate the manual lever clockwise 3 detents into Drive.

NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable, make sure that the selector lever cable locking tabs are locked in place. Press the selector lever cable into the bracket and listen for the cable to click in place. Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that it is locked into the bracket.
Install the selector lever cable into the selector lever cable bracket and install a new retaining clip.
- Attach the selector lever cable to the routing clip.
- Push the rubber grommet and selector lever cable up through the floor pan.

NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable, make sure that the selector lever cable locking tabs are locked in place. Press the selector lever cable into the bracket and listen for the cable to click in place. Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that it is locked into the bracket.
Connect the selector lever cable onto the steering column.
- Connect the selector lever cable retainer.
- Connect the selector lever cable onto the steering column bracket.
- Connect the selector lever cable onto the selector lever mechanism.
- Listen for the audible click.
- Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that it is correctly installed.
- Install the steering column shrouds. For additional information, refer to STEERING COLUMN .
- Unlock the lock tab on the selector lever cable by sliding it up.

NOTE: Apply pressure to the selector lever cable end while installing it onto the manual control lever and make sure the selector lever and manual control lever has not moved out of Drive.
Install the selector lever cable onto the manual control lever.
- Listen for the audible click.
- Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure it is correctly installed.
- Lock the selector lever cable lock tab into place by pressing the lock tab down.
- If equipped, install the selector lever cable splash shield and the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Verify the vehicle will start in PARK or NEUTRAL and the backup lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
