Generator - 2.0L GTDI: Removal
NOTE:
Do not allow any metal object to come in contact with the generator housing and internal diode cooling fins. A short circuit may result and burn out the diodes. Failure to follow this instruction may result in component damage.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery ground. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM - ELECTRONIC MANUAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL (EMTC) or CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM - DUAL AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (DATC) .
