Selector Lever Cable: Installation

Install the selector lever cable.

Install the selector lever cable grommet nuts and reposition the carpet.Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Connect the HVAC hose and reposition the carpet.

- 4.
Install the instrument panel bracket and the bolts.
- 1.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- 2.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever and install the bolt.Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Connect the selector lever end to the selector lever.

Connect the selector lever cable to the retainer.

Position the exhaust heat shield and install the retainers.

Position the brake fluid reservoir and install the bolts.Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Connect the selector lever cable to the bracket and install the bolt.Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Position the selector lever in D.

Position the transmission manual lever in D.
- 1.
Rotate the selector shaft lever clockwise until it stops.
- 2.
Rotate the selector shaft lever counterclockwise 3 detents.

Unlock the selector lever cable adjuster.
- 1.
Move the slide to the left.
- 2.
While holding the slide, position the adjuster lock upward.

Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.

Install the engine undershield and the retainers.

Verify that the vehicle only starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
