Network Message Chart - Push Button Start: On
To enter ON mode, with a valid passive key inside the vehicle, press the ignition switch for a minimum of one second without pressing the brake pedal. Once the BCM and RFA module indicate a valid passive key is present inside the vehicle and the BCM has detected the ignition switch input without the BPP switch input, the BCM activates the ignition and accessory relays, providing ignition power to the various vehicle systems and modules. The BCM communicates the state of the ignition to the other modules by sending an ignition status message over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) and a power mode message over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The BCM also sends a power system status message to the IPC over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) to momentarily illuminate the module controlled indicators to prove they are functioning correctly.
