Seat Position Sensor

NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

All seats 

  1. Remove the driver seat and depower the SRS  . For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Disconnect the seat position sensor electrical connector.

    Power seats 

  3. Detach the wire harness routing pin-type retainer from the seat position sensor bracket.

    All seats 

  4. Push apart then inward to release the seat position sensor locking clip.

  5. Slide the seat position sensor rearward to release the 2 hooks from the bracket. Then remove the seat position sensor.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  7. Install the driver seat and repower the SRS  . For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
