Removal And Installation

NOTE:
On the first press of the seat control switch after the seat is repaired and a new system component has been installed, the PFSM moves the seat to the home position (seat folded and latched to the floor) before continuing to move to the selected seat position. This allows the PFSM to relearn the position of the affected motors.
- 1.
Remove the quarter trim panel on the side of the affected power-fold seat motor. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .
- 3.
Release the backrest cover lower J-clip, open the trim cover and separate the inner hook-and-loop strips.
- 4.
Remove the power-fold seat motor with backrest latch in the following sequence.- 1.
Roll the backrest cover up.
- 2.
Remove the screw retaining the latch inboard cover to the latch.
- 3.
Detach the head restraint release cable and conduit from the latch.
- 4.
Remove the 2 backrest latch-to-backrest frame bolts.- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- 5.
Remove the 2 backrest latch-to-cushion frame bolts- To install, tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).

Disconnect the power-fold seat motor.
