MODULE NETWORK INPUT MESSAGES - BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
PATS  status enable/disable target data TCM  The TCM  sends the BCM  a challenge request for a valid ID.
Intelligent access key status RFA  module Provide the BCM  with the passive key data. The data contains information such as if a passive key has been detected, how many were detected, battery status and if it is a programmed key.
Intelligent access system status RFA  module The response from the BCM  request for the RFA  module ID. If the RFA  module ID response is incorrect, then the PATS  prevents the vehicle from starting.
MODULE NETWORK INPUT MESSAGES - TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
PATS  start request target data BCM  The response from the BCM  supplying the TCM  challenge ID. If the BCM  ID response is incorrect, then the PATS  prevents the TCM  from applying torque.
MODULE NETWORK INPUT MESSAGES - REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR (RFA) MODULE

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
Intelligent access system status BCM  A request for the RFA  module ID.
Door status BCM  Used by the RFA  module to determine if it should search the interior of the vehicle for a passive key. It searches for a key if any door or liftgate/luggage compartment lid is opened and then closed.
