Reductant Tank Draining

All Vehicles 

NOTE: Discard the drained reductant. Always refill the reductant tank with new reductant to avoid reductant system contamination.
  1. Remove the reductant tank filler hose cap.

    Inboard Frame Mounted Reductant Tank 

  2. NOTE: The reductant tank can also be drained through the reductant tank filler hose opening in the tank. The reductant tank may need to be lowered to gain access to the reductant tank filler hose opening.

    Using a suitable drain hose, insert it into the reductant tank filler hose until it stops inside the reductant tank.

    Outboard Frame Mounted Reductant Tank 

    NOTE: On some chassis cab vehicles, the outboard frame mounted reductant tank can be mounted on the inboard side of the frame rail.
  3. NOTE: The outboard frame mounted reductant tank may need to be partially lowered to gain access to the reductant tank filler hose opening.

    Disconnect the reductant tank filler hose from the reductant tank.

  4. Using a suitable drain hose, insert it into the reductant tank filler hose tank opening.

  5. NOTE: Discard the drained reductant. Always refill the reductant tank with new reductant to avoid reductant system contamination.

    Drain and discard the reductant out of the tank.
