Front Disc Brake: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

    Vehicles with 2 piston calipers 

  2. NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper, brake pads and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose may occur.

    Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. Relocate and support the component.

    • To install, tighten the new brake caliper anchor plate bolts to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

    Vehicles with 4 or 6 piston calipers 

  3. NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose may occur.

    Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. Relocate and support the component.

    • To install, tighten the new brake caliper bolts to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
