Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE PATS KEYS
    NOTE: The keys must have HA or SA stamped on the key blade.
    1. Check that the correct PATS keys are used with the vehicle. REFER to Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) .

    Are the correct keys being used? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: OBTAIN the correct key(s) for the vehicle. PROGRAM the new key(s). REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment  or REFER to Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys .
  2. ISOLATE THE PATS KEYS
    NOTE: Follow this procedure using both PATS keys (using one at a time).
    1. Place a PATS key in the ignition and turn to the ON position.
    2. Using a scan tool, clear BCM CMDTCs  .
    3. Cycle the ignition from ON to OFF and then back to the ON position.
    4. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC B10D7:87 or B10D7:8F retrieved for both keys? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new PATS transceiver. REFER to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Transceiver .
    2. No: DISCARD the key in question and PROGRAM a new key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment  or REFER to Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys .
