Test Procedure
- QE1 CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF ANY DTCS OTHER THAN THE INFORMATIONAL DTCS NOTE: Informational DTCs are P1A10, P1A0C, P1A0D, and P1A0E.
Are any DTCs present other than the following: P1A10, P1A0C, P1A0D, or P1A0E?
Yes No DTCs other than informational DTCs should be diagnosed in the following order: PCM KOEO, PCM KOER, TCM On Demand, PCM CONT and TCM CONT. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS . For DTC P1A0C alone, GO to QE2.
For DTC P1A0C in combination with DTCs P1A10, P1A0D, or P1A0E, GO to QE3.
For all others, alone or in combination, GO to QE3. - QE2 ATTEMPT TO START THE ENGINE NOTE: The engine may attempt to start three times.
- Start the engine using the engine running diagnostic mode. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC MODES . Allow the engine to idle for 1 minute.
Does the engine start and run for at least one minute?
Yes No GO to PINPOINT TEST DV . REFER to NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) PRESENT SYMPTOM CHARTS . FOLLOW the Engine/Vehicle Starting Concerns: No Start/Normal Crank symptom directions to continue diagnosis. - QE3 CHECK FOR TGAC AND TMAC CIRCUITS SHORTED TO SIGNALS IN THE SAME HARNESS
- PCM connector disconnected.
- Transaxle Assembly-B connector disconnected.
- Measure the resistance between:

Yes No GO to NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) PRESENT SYMPTOM CHART INDEX for further direction. If the symptom is not listed, REFER to or GO to PINPOINT TEST Z , for intermittent PCM/TCM diagnostics. REPAIR the circuit.
Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
