Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
- Using a scan tool, perform Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) self-test.
- Were Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) B1368: 11 or B1368: 12 retrieved?
- Yes: GO to step 2 .
- No: If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) were retrieved, CONFIGURE the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) using as-built data. TEST the system for normal operation. If any other Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) were retrieved, REFER to DTC CHART: STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE (SCCM) .
- CHECK THE Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) HALL-EFFECT CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Adjustable Pedal Motor.
- Disconnect Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) C2414C.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
- Is any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- No: GO to step 3 .
- CHECK THE Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) HALL-EFFECT CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
- Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to step 4 .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- CHECK THE Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) HALL-EFFECT CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
- Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to step 5 .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- CHECK THE Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) HALL-EFFECT CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER
- Measure:
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new adjustable pedal motor and bracket assembly, REFER to ACCELERATOR PEDAL . CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test. If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1368: 11 or B1368: 12 return, INSTALL a new Steering Column Control Module (SCCM), REFER to STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE (SCCM) .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
