Pinpoint Test Ag: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE Transmitter
NOTE:
The panic feature only operates when the ignition is in the OFF mode.
- AG1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock button on the driver door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
- Do the door locks operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to AG2 .
- No: CHECK the symptom(s) and GO to SYMPTOM CHART - ELECTRICAL .
- AG2 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Place the hazard switch in the ON position.
- Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to AG3 .
- No: REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
- AG3 VERIFY THE LIFTGATE OPERATION
- Press an interior power liftgate switch.
- Does the power liftgate open?
- Yes: GO to AG4 .
- No: REFER to BODY CLOSURES .
- AG4 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: BCM DataLogger.
- Select the BCM PID (HORN) and active command the horn on.
- Does the horn sound when commanded on?
- Yes:
For vehicles equipped with the factory remote start, GO to AG5
.
For vehicles without the factory remote start, REPLACE and PROGRAM the inoperative IA key. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: REFER to HORN .
- AG5 VERIFY THE REMOTE START BUTTON
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: RFA module DataLogger.
- Select the RFA module PID (Lst_Xm_B_Prs) while pressing the remote start button on an IA key.
- Does the PID indicate the remote start button is being pressed?
- Yes: REFER to STARTING SYSTEM to diagnose the remote start system.
- No: REPLACE and PROGRAM the inoperative IA key. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) . TEST the system for normal operation.
