Pinpoint Test A: No Communication With The Anti-Lock Brake System Module
CAUTION:
Use the flex probe kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
- A1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1087 (OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C135
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ABS module connector C315-8, circuit 1087 (OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- YES : Go to A2.
- NO : VERIFY the smart junction box (SJB) fuse 27 (10A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit 1087 (OG). CLEAR the DTCs. TURN the ignition switch from OFF to ON. REPEAT the ABS self-test. If any DTCs are retrieved, REFER to the ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX . If no DTCs are retrieved, CARRY OUT a drive test above 15 km/h (9 mph), then REFER to the Symptom Chart .
- A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1203 (BK/LB) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C135-15, circuit 1203 (BK/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- YES : CHECK the CAN communications network. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
- NO : REPAIR circuit 1203 (BK/LB).
