Side Impact Sensor: Installation

- Align the side impact sensor locators to the B-pillar and position the side impact sensor.
- Install the side impact sensor.
- Install the bolt.
- Connect the side impact sensor electrical connector.
- Make sure the wiring harness protector is installed correctly to prevent damage to the side impact sensor wiring.
- Align the lower B-pillar trim panel and push in on it seating the retaining clips.
- Align the upper B-pillar trim panel and push in on it seating the retaining clips.
- Position the safety belt guide and install the nut.
- Install the safety belt guide cover
- Install the front door scuff plate.
- Repower the system. For additional information, Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
WARNING:
The tightening torque of the air bag side impact sensor retaining bolt is critical for correct system operation.
NOTE:
If the safety belt guide cover is damaged or it does not remain attached, install a new cover.
